Library ends record-setting year
ICPL continues to be busiest single-branch library in Iowa
The Iowa City Public Library continues to thrive as we celebrate the fifth anniversary of our renovated and expanded building in the heart of downtown. We ended our fiscal year with record-setting numbers.
It was our busiest year ever – more than 1.5 million checkouts, and more than 745,000 people through the doors between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009. Each year we strive to build better collections, improve services, offer exciting programs, and work with a wide variety of community partners.
We have lots of great things coming, including an early literacy initiative and the continuation of the ECO Iowa City program. We welcome you to rediscover all your Library has to offer in the coming year.
