Young Footliters
The Young Footliters is a non-profit organization thatprovides youth in kindergarten through 12th grade the opportunity todevelop the numerous creative (writing, acting, set production,costuming, music, etc.) and people skills (poise, confidence, workingwith others) involved in drama. We are a volunteer organization made upof families and community members who are dedicated to creating apositive threatrical experience for our children. Our performancesinclude classics of children's literature as well as original workswritten by our directors and actors. We are affiliated with the IowaCity Community Theater and the Iowa City Recreation Division. There is a teen group called Act 2
Celebrating 30 years in 2-12
Young Life
Organized about 1968. Affiliated with Young Life Campaign. Weekly social interaction, small groups and individual counseling, trips and retreats, skill training in self-esteem, communication, friendship, family and the Christian Faith. For high school, and junior high school students.
Youth Leadership Program, Community
The Community Youth Leadership Program (CYLP) is for local high
school students who want to learn essential leadership skills and become
engaged in our community. CYLP meets once a month from August - March, for
full day sessions that include panels, tours, and activities to explore
topics of importance of leadership in our community, such as arts & culture,
health care and economics. Students apply in the spring of their sophomore
year to participate in their junior year.
