| Information: | We are your first call in Johnson County. Crisis intervention services include phone-based counseling from the 24-Hour Crisis Line, 319-351-0140, available 365 days a year; online emotional support from Crisis Chat, available via our website, www.jccrisiscenter.org; walk-in counseling available from 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM at 1121 Gilbert Court in Iowa City; and the Suicide Survivor's Support Group, for those who have lost someone to suicide, which meets the first Thursday of each month. Suicide awareness programs, suicide prevention training, and general interests programs are available for individuals, groups and businesses. The Crisis Center Food Bank provides weekly supplemental food bags and other household services. Our Emergency Assistance program provides limited financial help to avoid eviction or loss of utilities (please visit our website for complete details). Disaster recovery and relief services are available when natural disasters affect the community. We also offer excellent volunteer opportunities with extensive skills training. |
