| Information: | Church Women United is a racially, culturally, theologically inclusive, international Christian Women's movement, recognized as an official NGO by the United Nations. CWU celebrates unity in diversity and works for a world of peace & justice. It's Quadrennial (2008-2012) Priorities are 4-fold: working to promote Peace, Economic Justice, better Health Care & Care for the Environment. The Johnson County unit currently represents 25 churches, & cooperates with the Inter-Faith Religious Council of Iowa City. 4 Ecumenical Celebrations per year: (March)-World Day of Prayer, (May)-May Friendship Day, (Sept)-Human Rights Celebration, & (Nov)-World Community Day, all open to the public. |
