Wireless Internet Access

Wireless Access Outside the Library

ICPL provides 6 internal and 2 external wireless 802.11b/g access points. The wireless coverage areas overlap to provide wireless access to nearly all areas of both floors of the Library. The external antennas provide free Internet access to the City Plaza pedestrain mall around the west and south sides of the Library.

Hardware Needs

You will need a laptop computer or other portable device with a wireless network card. Wireless network cards can be purchased at any computer supply store.

Settings & Software

Your device will need to be configured to obtain an IP address automatically using DHCP. Because each person's device is going to be different you will be responsible for knowing how to configure your own equipment. See the Configuring Your Computer for Wireless page for some helpful tips.

Where to Connect

Wireless internet access is available throughout the entire library, including the library meeting rooms.
