Our meeting rooms provide space for library programs and community events. Groups utilizing the Library's meeting rooms must adhere to the Meeting Room Use Policy.

* Rooms A, B and C can be reserved together for a total of 180 occupants with chairs. The combined rooms will accommodate up to 400 people with no chairs or furniture.
** Room D can accommodate up to 49 people with no chairs or furniture.

Hours Available

Room E is only available during regular Library hours.

Rooms A, B, C, and D are available during the following hours:

Monday-Thursday: 9 am - 9 pm
Friday: 9 am - 8 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm
Sunday: 12 pm - 5 pm

Evening meetings in Rooms A, B, C, and D must start at least one hour before the Library closes.

Eligibility

Meeting rooms are available for:

  • Non-profit citizen's groups - contact information required including names and phone numbers of two Johnson County residents
  • Non-profit corporations - those granted tax-exempt status by the IRS under section 501(c)(3) or other tax exempt sections of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Candidate campaign committees - as defined in Iowa Code §68A.102(5)
  • Political committees - as defined by Iowa Code §68A.102(18)
  • Governmental subdivisions - or a department/division/bureau of a governmental subdivision

FAQs

Can I Zoom from your meeting rooms?
Meeting Room D can connect to a Zoom meeting with audio and video if you request the Web Hub under the equipment options, however, you will need to use your personal Zoom account when setting up and logging into the meeting.

Is there a fee for using the rooms?
It doesn’t cost to use the meeting rooms; however, if the room is not returned to its standard setup, if there are damages, or if extraordinary cleanup must occur a minimum of $50 will be charged to cover it.

Can I serve food at my meetings?
Yes, but you must clean up when you are done. If you anticipate you will have a lot of trash, please notify us ahead of time and we’ll put an extra trash receptacle in the room. The Help Desk can also supply a vacuum cleaner if needed.

What if I want to move the furniture around?
It is okay to move furniture that is not fixed to the floor; however, you are responsible for returning the room to the standard set up. Standard set ups are posted in each room. Tables in Rooms D and E may not be moved.
