My Card and Account: Card ResponsibilityCard Responsibility
A library card is powerful resource that grants access to limitless information, but as a card holder you must take care of it. You are responsible for items checked out on a loaned card, and lost cards incur a fee for replacement. Please read the following information to ensure proper use of your card.
Consent for Others to Use Your Card
We assume the person presenting a card has been authorized by the cardholder to use it unless the card has been reported lost or stolen.
Forgotten Cards
If a person forgets his or her library card, it is possible to borrow materials once with photo identification. Borrowers must present their library card the next time they borrow materials, or purchase a replacement card.
Materials with Limits
When checking out materials with limits, a single patron may not present multiple cards to increase the number of items he or she is allowed to take.
Replacement Cards
Lost or stolen cards may be replaced by providing photo identification. The fee for a replacement card is $1.00.
Name and Address Changes
Please remember to inform the Library of all name and address changes. A phone call or postal service form is acceptable.
Lost or Stolen Cards
To prevent unauthorized use, all lost or stolen cards should be reported promptly to the Library. Cards reported as lost or stolen and subsequently found or recovered can only be used by persons with proper identification.
