Outside Bookdrop Return Locations
The library provides book drops outside on the Linn Street side of the building for returning materials any time of day. There are separate drops for children's books, adult books, and audiovisual materials.
Circulating equipment such as DVD players, Flip cameras, etc., as well as other items that do not fit in the drop, must be returned to the Help Desk during open hours.
Materials are checked in throughout the day while the library is open. Items returned after the library closes are considered returned the next day.
East Side Remote Drop
The east side book drop is located at the Hy-Vee Food Store at 812 S. 1st Avenue
Remote Bookdrop Return Locations
The Iowa City Public Library's remote book drops are available at two locations for returning most library items; books, DVDs and compact disc recordings may be returned at these sites.
Two containers are available at each location: a larger one for books and a somewhat smaller one for audiovisual materials. The units are emptied daily. Items returned after 1:00pm are considered returned the next business day.
Any item that doesn't fit in the book drop slots--such as large framed posters and other art-work--should be returned to the downtown Library, 123 S. Linn St.
West Side Remote Drop
The west side book drop is located at the University of Iowa Community Credit Union office at 825 Mormon Trek Blvd.
