Designed for the whole family and presented at a time convenient for most working parents. Storytime includes both shorter and longer stories combined with action games and activities. Join the Hancher performers for a zany musical percussion and dance event with a Brazilian flavor. The SPOT Family Arts Adventure Series is in its fourth and final year. A preschool-age oriented program for preschoolers where longer stories and books are shared with fewer activities. Preschool Storytime is recommended for children who are 3,4, or 5 years old.

Third Thursday - Music from Times Past with Dan Knight
Location: Room A, Room B, Room C
Join Dan Knight and others as we travel down memory lane with Music from Times Past. This is a joint program with Weber Days, an annual celebration of local history. Third Thursday programs are created for persons 55 years and older. The lunch programs are free but registration is required in order to reserve a complimentary lunch. Call the Reference Desk at 319.356.5200 option 5 or register online below. Program support is provided by the University of Iowa Community Credit Union. Lunch from Hungry Hobo is provided through the generosity of the University of Iowa Community Credit Union and Hungry Hobo. Watch the Library's webpage for future Third Thursday. In the fall of 2006, the Iowa City Public Library began an advisory group of patrons who are over 55 years of age to advise the Library regarding programs, collections and services to persons over 55. The advisory group is comprised of five patrons and four staff members. Third Thursday programs are the result of recommendations from this group. Programs are planned by advisory group members and the group invites suggestions for future programs. [full event info]
