Audiovisual Equipment for Checkout
The following equipment is available for checkout to residents of Iowa City and areas covered by contracts for service (Hills, University Heights, and rural Johnson County).
Circulating Audiovisual Equipment
Circulating AV is available at the Checkout Desk. Patrons may do a "Title" search in the catalog for the name of the equipment to determine if the item is available. If an item is not available, a hold may be placed. Circulating AV may be renewed one time if there are no holds on the item.

Reservation Audiovisual Equipment & Book Club Kits
Reservation AV requires a reservation at the Fiction Desk, 319.356.5200, option 4. Reservations may be placed for the current month and next month. Patrons are limited to two (2) reservations at one time. Persons under 18 years of age must have a "Consent Form for Minor to Checkout Audiovisual Equipment." See below for details.

- Obtain a copy of the "Consent Form for Minor to Check Out Audiovisual Equipment" form from the Fiction Desk or download a copy (PDF).
- Secure a signature from a parent or guardian.
- Return the signed form to the Fiction Desk.
- Eligible cardholders may reserve and checkout equipment in their own name only - identification may be requested and a library card is required for checkout.
- Limits on borrowing ICPL AV Equipment are established and strictly enforced in order to provide wide access to expensive, popular items.
- Patrons whose cards are expired will be blocked from reserving equipment until their cards have been renewed.
- Patrons who have outstanding fines greater than $2.50 will be blocked from reserving equipment until their fines have been paid.

What is the cost?
There is no cost to eligible patrons; however, loss or damage to equipment while in the borrower's possession will be billed to the borrower for the full repair or replacement cost.

Are giant chess and checker pieces available for checkout?
Yes, these items are available from the Checkout Desk and circulate overnight. Check the catalog for more information. There are no residency or age requirements for checkout. Overdue fine is $1.00 per day.
