Library SSL Certificate Issue

The Certification Authority (CA) that validates websites at ICPL has changed its primary (root) certificate name. This change has been incorporated into the latest update of Internet Explorer, but inclusion is still pending for other browsers such as Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera, etc. Although browser versions may differ slightly, here are the general instructions for installing the root certificate manually:

The IPSCA website is currently down, so we have changed the links below to pull the current certificate from our server in the meantime.

Internet Explorer

(Your version of IE may already be updated. Install new certificate only if you are receiving security alert screens)
  1. Click on the following link to download new certificate - http://certs.ipsca.com/store/ipsCAGlobal.crt
  2. Click on "Open" when you are asked if you want to open or save this file.
  3. A "Certificate" window will pop-up. Check the "Certification Path" tab. It should say, "ipsCA Global CA Root"
  4. Click the "General" tab and then click on "Install Certificate"
  5. Click "Next", "Next", and "Finish" (all defaults). Window should pop-up saying "Import successful"

Firefox

  1. Click on the following link to download new certificate - http://certs.ipsca.com/store/ipsCAGlobal.crt
  2. A "Downloading Certificate" window will open
  3. In the window select the checkbox for "Trust this CA to identify web sites " and then select "OK"

Safari

  1. Click on the following link to download new certificate - http://certs.ipsca.com/store/ipsCAGlobal.crt
  2. Double-click on downloaded certificate (ipsCAGlobal.crt). This will launch "Keychain Access"
  3. Choose "X509 Anchors" from the pop-up menu and click "Add"
  4. Enter your administrative password when you are prompted

Opera

  1. Click on the following link to download new certificate - http://certs.ipsca.com/store/ipsCAGlobal.crt
  2. An "Install Certificate" window should open. Click on "Install", and then "OK"

How to Create an Exception in Firefox
