Support the Iowa City Public Library As a dynamic center for education in our community, the Iowa City Public Library is committed to sustaining innovation and excellence. Charitable contributions from individuals, families, businesses and community organizations are necessary to ensure Library collections, services and programs remain dynamic...reflecting and responding to our community's expectations.

In 1982, the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation was formed to accept gifts on behalf of the Library. Donations to the non-profit, IRS designated 501(c)3 organization are tax-deductible. Gifts to the ICPL Friends Foundation supplement funding from the City of Iowa City, Johnson County, and state and federal governments.

Through the Development Office of the Iowa City Public Library, the ICPL Friends Foundation fundraises through online donations, mailings, special events, and The Book End.

You can show your appreciation of Library efforts by making tribute gifts in honor or memory of someone special, contributing to the Annual Fund to purchase collection materials, and donating items and shopping at The Book End used bookstore!
