Gmail Tips and Tricks

Friday, February 4 from 10:30-11:30am
Zoom

Want to be sure you're getting the most out of your Gmail account? Are you overwhelmed by hundreds (or thousands?) of unopened emails? Join us for an overview of Gmail's settings, choosing a layout that works for you, deciding to thread conversations or not, organizing emails with labels, automatically managing incoming emails with filters, and effective searching to find old emails.

Collage Workshop

Thursday, February 10 from 5:00-6:30pm
ICPL Digital Media Lab

Dust off your cutting and gluing skills, adults!  Make something fun, serious, personal, or silly to hang on your fridge, or craft a valentine or anti-valentine to give away next week.  Since it’s in the Digital Media Lab, you’ll have the option to scan treasured photos or other items you don’t want to damage and print out images to become part of your collage – and scan your finished collage to share it online.

Getting Started with Libby

Friday, February 18 from 10:30-11:30AM
Zoom

We may have added Hoopla recently, but Libby is sticking around as the classic way to get free ebooks, e-audiobooks, and digital magazines from the Iowa City Public Library.  We’ll cover downloading the app, logging in, browsing for materials, and managing your checkouts.

Know Your Streaming Options

Friday, February 25 from 10:30-11:30am
Zoom

If you're overwhelmed by all of the streaming video options out there, join us for an overview of the major services, including Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Disney+, HBO, and AppleTV+.  We’ll touch on pricing, plans, concurrent streaming, bundles, and an overview of the content on each platform.

Digital Media Lab Help Hours

Every Tuesday in February from 5-8pm
ICPL Digital Media Lab

Want some help starting a digital media project like scanning photos, editing a video, or converting a VHS tape? Stacey can help you get started with a project, troubleshoot hardware, or show you what's available in the Digital Media Lab.

Also, drop in to the Digital Media Lab to try out our new iPad with Procreate and a pressure-sensitive Apple Pencil!  It doesn’t take much to doodle something gorgeous with all the amazing brushes and features in Procreate.
