Does scanning old photos and organizing digital photos seem like a big task? The Iowa City Public Library can help! Join us for a month full of classes dedicated to preserving your memories.
Learn how to use the Library’s scanners to digitize your printed photo collections. Bring a stack of photos and a USB or other device to save your pictures. This class will be held on Saturday, March 10, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Want to learn how to take care of your digital photo collection? Begin by getting familiar with important practices for taking care of your digital collection at the Maintain and Preserve Digital Photos class, held on Tuesday, March 13, at 10 a.m. Individuals are encouraged to bring their own pictures to add tags that which will make searching for photos easier.
Join us from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, March 19, and learn to restore a scanned image using Adobe Photoshop. Use Adobe Photoshop to correct a photo's color balance, the brightness and contrast, correct small areas of damage, and more.
Whether your images are scanned or taken with a digital camera, you can share a story with you loved ones by using the book module in Adobe Lightroom. After creating your book, you can print it locally, use the Blur service, or simply create a digital copy to share electronically. This class will be held on Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to noon.
