Press ReleaseMeet the first Iowa Woman to Summit Mt. Everest at ICPL

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Iowa City Public Library will host an all ages special program featuring Jennifer Loeb from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, in Meeting Room A.

Loeb is a Jesup native, current Marengo resident, and General Mills factory worker. She’s also an accomplished mountaineer. Loeb is the first Iowa woman to summit Mt. Everest. She’s also close to becoming one of only 22 women in America to complete climbs of the seven continents' tallest mountain peaks.

Come to the Library on March 16 to hear about her adventures, view stunning photos and videos, and see some of her climbing gear. Loeb's presentation will feature triumphant stories and edge-of-your-seat suspense, as well as offer time for answering questions about mountaineering.

This event is appropriate for school-age children and up.
