Press ReleaseNational CPR Day Events at ICPL on June 4

In the event of a life threatening emergency like a heart attack or choking, every minute before help arrives is important. What do you do after calling 911?

In recognition of National CPR and AED Awareness week, the Iowa City Public Library and the Johnson County Ambulance Service will host two potentially life-saving workshops on Tuesday, June 4, in Meeting Rooms A and D.

Both workshops will be led by paramedics from Johnson County Ambulance.

STOP the Bleed: 9 a.m.; 10 a.m.; 11 a.m.; 12 p.m.; or 1 p.m. in Meeting Room D

Learn what you can do to improve the chances of survival in this 45-minute hands-on course, with instructors giving you the skills you need to make a difference until emergency services arrive. Choose from one of five sessions. Each session is open to 30 people and registration is required.
