Decorating eggs has been a tradition in Poland for about 1,000 years. The word ‘pisanki’ is commonly used to name all the ‘easter eggs’ in Poland. It is derived from the verb pisać – to write. Sharing and gifting the pisanki to family and friends was common as symbolic wishes of health and abundance ‘written’ with symbols on the eggshells. Join us this week to learn some techniques to decorate your own hand-painted egg!
