Each week we will learn by doing with a craft, game or activity that explores a different part of the world. Decorating eggs has been a tradition in Poland for about 1,000 years. The word ‘pisanki’ is commonly used to name all the ‘easter eggs’ in Poland. It is derived from the verb pisać – to write. Sharing and gifting the pisanki to family and friends was common as symbolic wishes of health and abundance ‘written’ with symbols on the eggshells.
