06/26/2019 1:00pm 06/26/2019 2:00pm World Wednesday: Chinese Dragons This year's Summer Reading Program theme is "A Universe of Stories." One way we can discover new stories around the world (and beyond) is to encourage cultural literacy. On Wednesdays, join us for an activity that will help us learn and understand something new about different world cultures. Chinese dragons are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology and Chinese folklore. Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize strong and lucky powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, typhoons, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it. Today we will learn more about dragons in the Chinese culture and use watercolors to entail the watery elements of dragons and create custom art!
