07/18/2019 6:30pm 07/18/2019 7:30pm Family Night: The Sawyer String Quartet Join us for a free chamber concert at the library for the whole family! The Sawyer Quartet was formed in 2016 and based on the East Coast which focuses on improving access to live chamber music among audiences who might be unable or unlikely to attend traditional concerts. This is a great opportunity for little ones to learn and interact with traditional music and string instruments! Join us for an exploratory and interactive program designed to provide listening tools for new listeners and inspire curiosity about chamber music. We will share selections from a variety of works, and ask questions like: What is a string quartet? How do composers use these instruments to create moods and tell stories? Audience members will be invited to ask questions and create original artwork inspired by what they hear! Iowa City Public Library Iowa City Public Library America/Chicago public
