Sunday, February 28, 2021 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

02/28/2021 2:00pm 02/28/2021 4:00pm Sunday Fun Day: Feathery Firebirds For Black History Month, we are featuring a new picture book each week that will be always available to borrow online via our Digital Library collection Overdrive for the entire month of February using the app Libby. This week we are highlighting the book Firebird by ballerina Misty Copeland. In her debut picture book, Misty Copeland tells the story of a young girl--an every girl--whose confidence is fragile and who is questioning her own ability to reach the heights that Misty has reached. Misty encourages this young girl's faith in herself and shows her exactly how, through hard work and dedication, she too can become Firebird. To accompany this story, we will make colorful, feathery phoenixes using tissue paper and feathers! Register for Sunday Fun Day Craft-To-Go Kits from the events page with the registration link below. Kits can be reserved through this calendar event and picked up during our Lobby Grab and Go hours, from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and noon-5pm on Sunday. Limit to one kit per child in a household. A new craft kit will be offered every Monday and be available until Saturday or as supplies last, so check out the calendar for new crafts weekly! We also will have extra crafts available in the lobby throughout the week, so if you're not sure if you will be able to come pick up your crafts or miss registration, consider coming to the library to grab one in the lobby.
