In this event we will discuss the Ken Burn's movie Jackie Robinson: An African American Baseball Player and Civil Rights Activist (listed as a full movie on Kanopy and Parts 1 and 2).
This documentary is available FREE with your library card on Kanopy.com. Open access users can use the library card number in their city of residence to login. Watch it at your leisure and join us for a discussion on February 18th at 6 pm. Registration for the discussion is required.
Track and Field Athlete and Co-president of the Speak Your Truth Committee Antonio Woodward and Gymnast JerQuavia Henderson both from the University of Iowa will be available to facilitate discussion, share their experiences and answer your questions.
Registrants who attend this program will also be eligible for a 10-punch swim pass through Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department; a partner and co-sponsored host of this program. Inquire and arrange a pickup time for the swim pass by calling Parks and Recreation directly at 319-356-5100. Pickup is available during the month of February and passes do not expire.
