We are celebrating the arrival of Spring and Earth Day in April, so we will be featuring a new nonfiction picture books about appreciating nature each week that will be always available to borrow online via our Digital Library collection Overdrive for the entire month of April using the app Libby. This week we are highlighting the book Honeybee: The Busy Life of Apis Mellifera by Candace Fleming. This lavishly-painted introduction to the life of a honeybee is full of intriguing facts and meticulous details, including a "bit more buzz" about how we can help honey bees. A huge way to help the bees is to plant bee-friendly plants in your garden! This week we will provide materials to start some flowering herbs that bees like to pollinate! You can even decorate your young container garden to enjoy while it gets ready for your garden.

Register for Sunday Fun Day Craft-To-Go Kits from the events page with the registration link below. Kits can be reserved through this calendar event and picked up during our Lobby Grab and Go hours, from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and noon-5pm on Sunday. Limit to one kit per child in a household. A new craft kit will be offered every Monday and be available until Saturday or as supplies last, so check out the calendar for new crafts weekly!

We are decreasing the amount of reserved spots, but we will have extra crafts available in the lobby throughout the week, so if you're not sure if you will be able to come pick up your crafts or miss registration, consider coming to the library to grab one in the lobby.

This event is open to the public.
