For the exciting return of the Farmer's Market this month, we are featuring a new picture book each week that will be always available to borrow online via our Digital Library collection Overdrive for the entire month of May using the app Libby. This week we are highlighting the book The Ugly Vegetables by Grace Lin. In this charming story about celebrating differences a Chinese-American girl wishes for a garden of bright flowers instead of one full of bumpy, ugly, vegetables. Except everyone agrees those ugly vegetables become the tastiest, most aromatic soup they have ever known. Using a paper plate, make your own miniature vegetable garden to dig out of the dirt!
We are no longer offering craft kit registration, but we make enough kits to be available for pick up from the library throughout the week at the Children's Room desk. A new craft kit will be offered every Monday and be available until Sunday or as supplies last, so check out the calendar for new crafts weekly!
