Tweens are invited to a monthly meet-up to read and discuss graphic novels. We'll be talking about old favorites, reading new titles, and doing activities around them. Plus, cookies will be served!
This month, we'll read Sunny Makes a Splash by Jennifer L. Holm. It's summer and Sunny is bored. Most of her friends are out of town. Her mom wants her to babysit way more than Sunny wants to babysit. There's nothing good on TV. The only cool place that's cool is the community pool. Sunny loves going there - and loves it even more when she's offered a job at the snack shack. Soon she's flinging fries and serving frozen ice cream treats - with the assistance of the very sweet boy who works with her. Life is best when it's free swim.

Este mes, leeremos Sunny Makes a Splash por Jennifer L. Holm. Es verano y Sunny está aburrida. La mayoría de sus amigos están fuera de la ciudad. Su mamá quiere que ella cuide niños mucho más de lo que Sunny quiere cuidar niños. No hay nada bueno en la televisión. El único lugar genial que es genial es la piscina. A Sunny le encanta ir allí, y le encanta aún más cuando le ofrecen un trabajo en la cafetería. Pronto ella está lanzando papas fritas y sirviendo helados congelados, con la ayuda del chico muy dulce que trabaja con ella. La vida es mejor cuando puede nadar libremente.
