Thrillers are fast-paced, gripping, plot-centered stories, that contain both action and extreme danger. Thrillers are often villian-driven, where the protagonist's or hero's main focus is stopping them from succeeding. They can be from just about any genre: disaster, espionage, legal, plolitical, terrorism or more. Danger is present form the beginning, and red herrings, plot twists, unreliable narrators, and cliffhangers are common elements.
Lee Child, Gillian Flynn, Tana French and Stephen King are popular authors who write thrillers. Pick a few of your favorite books and join us for the discussion.
Not a traditional book group, Let's Talk Books is a series of casual online conversations about books. We meet on Zoom the 2nd and 4th Tuesday evening of each month and the genre or theme for the discussion changes each time. We each bring a few titles to share, and by the end of the discussion we all have a few new titles on our to-be-read lists.
Register here and you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom login details. You'll also get a reminder email a few days before the event. Everyone is welcome!
