Press ReleaseChromebook/hotspot bundles are now available for checkout at the Iowa City Public Library

The Iowa City Public Library now has Chromebook/hotspot bundles available for checkout, made possible by a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Johnson County.

The Chromebooks can be used to browse the Internet or use Google Drive. The Library also offers a Laptop/hotspot bundle for checkout with a Microsoft Operating System and Microsoft Office.

These bundles are available to patrons with a resident card. The checkout period is for seven days with no renewals. A maximum of one bundle can be checked out per card. Patrons 18 and younger must provide a consent form signed by a guardian in order to check out a bundle. Consent forms are available online (Here) or at the front desk.

Overdue items will have Internet access deactivated. Fines are not being charged through June 30, 2021, due to the pandemic, but typically $5.00 a day is charged for this type of equipment; with a $15 maximum fine. Unreturned equipment will generate replacement bills to patrons.

For more information, call the Library at 319-356-5200.
