The Iowa City Public Library serves the public's information needs through well-trained staff at the Reference, Fiction and Children's Desks. Questions may be asked in person, by phone, mail or via the Internet.

ICPL subscribes to a variety of online databases ranging from full-text magazine and newspaper indexes to children's resources to business resources. Use the category links below to access the online resources. Please note: the following databases are available only to residents of Iowa City and of areas covered by contracts for library service: rural Johnson County and the cities of Hills and University Heights.
