Work & Volunteer at ICPL
The library has a variety of jobs ranging from entry level shelvers to professional librarians and Managers of Departments. When openings are available, they are posted in the list below.

How To Apply
Applications are available online and in the Business Office on the 2nd floor of the Library from 10:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Some positions require a test that must be taken in person in the Business Office. After the application deadline the hiring supervisor will review applications and phone candidates for an interview.
Volunteer Positions for Young Adults (Grade 7 and up) and Adults
Young Adults (Grade 7 and up) and Adults are eligible to participate in the Volunteer Program. The Library's needs vary throughout the year, and there are not always openings available. Library volunteer jobs include:
- Checking in Library materials.
- Maintaining Library collections.
- Working at The BookEnd, the Friends Foundation's used bookstore.

Regular, ongoing jobs require a three-month commitment and two hours per week. Occasional and short-term jobs vary according to the needs of the Library. For example, an occasional position could be volunteering for a single Library program or event while a short term need may consist of working on a special project.
