Host a Party with a Purpose: Support the Iowa City Public Library!

Are you looking for a way to make a positive impact in our community? Here’s an exciting opportunity to bring people together while supporting a cause close to all our hearts: our beloved Iowa City Public Library! This season, the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation invites you to throw a party in your home or area business, with the proceeds going to benefit the Library’s many programs and services.

Whether it’s a cozy game night, a lively dinner party, or an afternoon tea, your gathering can help foster literacy, learning, and connection for people of all ages. By hosting a “Party with Purpose,” you’ll help the Library strengthen resources like storytimes, technology, free public events, and so much more.

How It Works

• Plan Your Event – Think of a gathering that you and your friends will love. Big or small, casual or fancy, anything goes!
• Set a Fundraising Goal – Decide on a suggested donation amount or invite guests to give what they can. Every contribution counts!
• Send Invitations & Share the Impact – Work with the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation to invite your guests, letting them know how their support benefits the Library, helping fund books, resources, and community programming.
• Celebrate Together – Enjoy your party, knowing you’re making a meaningful difference for Iowa City! Representatives from the ICPL and/or ICPL Friends Foundation can attend to share Library updates and information.
• Express Gratitude – The Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation will send donor acknowledgment letters to donors expressing gratitude to your guests for their contributions!
