Johnson County individuals and groups are invited to create displays for designated spaces in the Library.
Public Display Areas
Most community displays go on the second floor of the Library.
Individuals interested in providing children-specific displays are encouraged to discuss their ideas with Children’s Services at (319) 887-6029.
Display Criteria
Community displays must meet one of the following criteria:
- Highlight current issues, events or other subjects of public interest.
- Display high quality original art, crafts, photographs, writings, or interesting collections of Iowans.
- Explain the activities of local organizations and agencies engaged in educational, recreational, cultural, intellectual, or charitable activities.
All displays must follow our Display Policy.
Installation
Groups or individuals initiating the display must supply the labor and equipment needed to prepare, mount, and install the display. All displays must include a name and contact information.
The display space must be left in the same condition in which it was found when installing the display. Staff will remove display materials at the end of the scheduled period if not already removed by the individual or group responsible for the display.
Mounting Materials
Allowed: Staples, thumbtacks, and push pins
Not allowed: Tape, sticky labels, or nails
