Requesting accommodation

If you require accommodation, including sign language interpretation, to attend a Library event, please contact us at least 48 hours in advance. If you're attending a non-Library meeting, contact the organization sponsoring the event.

Hearing loop

Hearing loop technology is available in Meeting Room A and in the Children's Storytime Room. The hearing loop allows most hearing aids to connect directly to the sound system at Library events. We also have four headphone sets for people without compatible assistive hearing devices wanting to use the hearing loop system.

Assistive devices, technology, and collections

Also check out the Iowa Department for the Blind's Library Services for those who have trouble reading standard print materials.

If you're interested in trying out the Talking Book Player available from the Iowa Department for the Blind, you can test one out in the DML. Ask for it at the Page Station on the second floor.
