We asked Terri Caplan a few questions for this “Volunteer Spotlight:”
How long have you been volunteering for the Iowa City Public Library?
Since 2008.
What do you do at the Library?
I work in the BookEnd, and I’m on the BookEnd Committee. I volunteered in Circulation for a while. That was my first volunteer job here.
Why did you decide to volunteer at the Library?
Because I love books, and it’s a great library.
What is your favorite part of the collection?
The Fiction collection. I like historical fiction and Geraldine Brooks.
What else do you like to do?
I like to read. I spend time with my dogs. I have two retired racing greyhounds. I also like to work in my yard and see movies.

I am a sucker for Sci-Fi action movies of the 80s including Predator. Prey is the perfect example of how to do a prequel--it's an awesome movie with inventive action and visuals that stands on its own, but also has cool callbacks and references to the original films. -Brian
