02/02/2020 2:00pm 02/02/2020 4:00pm Sunday Funday: Pan-African Handprint Wreath In honor of Black History Month, join us to make a wreath of paper handprints representing the colors of the Pan-African flag. The Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League designed and formally adopted the flag in 1920 in response to a racially demeaning popular song. The UINA-ACL constitution explains the significance of the colors used: "red representing the noble blood that unites all people of African ancestry, the color black for the people, and green for the rich land of Africa."
