Library EventSunday Fun Day: Bearded Dragon

Sunday, March 14, 2021 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

03/14/2021 2:00pm 03/14/2021 4:00pm Sunday Fun Day: Bearded Dragon For Women's History Month, we are featuring a new picture book each week that will be always available to borrow online via our Digital Library collection Overdrive for the entire month of March using the app Libby. This week we are highlighting the book Joan Procter, Dragon Doctor: The Woman Who Loved Reptiles. Young Joan Procter entertained the most unusual party guests: slithery and scaly ones, who turned over teacups and crawled past the crumpets.... While other girls played with dolls, Joan preferred the company of reptiles. She carried her favorite lizard with her everywhere--she even brought a crocodile to school! Read about Joan and make your own bearded dragon to carry around out of a paper towel roll! Register for Sunday Fun Day Craft-To-Go Kits from the events page with the registration link below. Kits can be reserved through this calendar event and picked up during our Lobby Grab and Go hours, from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and noon-5pm on Sunday. Limit to one kit per child in a household. A new craft kit will be offered every Monday and be available until Saturday or as supplies last, so check out the calendar for new crafts weekly! We also will have extra crafts available in the lobby throughout the week, so if you're not sure if you will be able to come pick up your crafts or miss registration, consider coming to the library to grab one in the lobby.
