Registration opens April 19, 2021 at 8:00 am.

We are celebrating the arrival of Spring and Earth Day in April, so we will be featuring a new nonfiction picture books about appreciating nature each week that will be always available to borrow online via our Digital Library collection Overdrive for the entire month of April using the app Libby. This week we are highlighting the book The Home Builders by Varsha Bajaj. This book takes you into a serene woodland where lots of expectant animal parents are in their "nesting" phase--that is, busy preparing safe, cozy homes for their growing families. For this week's activity we encourage you to take a walk out into nature and observe how the animals are able to use the planet's resources to keep their families safe. Using downed branches from last summer's storm, use found materials in nature (but only what you need) to make a wood slice portrait!

Register for Sunday Fun Day Craft-To-Go Kits from the events page with the registration link below. Kits can be reserved through this calendar event and picked up during our Lobby Grab and Go hours, from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and noon-5pm on Sunday. Limit to one kit per child in a household. A new craft kit will be offered every Monday and be available until Saturday or as supplies last, so check out the calendar for new crafts weekly!

We are decreasing the amount of reserved spots, but we will have extra crafts available in the lobby throughout the week, so if you're not sure if you will be able to come pick up your crafts or miss registration, consider coming to the library to grab one in the lobby.

This event is open to the public.
