Each week we will learn by doing with a craft, game or activity that explores a different part of the world. School age children are invited to join us online, and/or with a Take & Make Kit to be picked up from the library ahead of time, for an activity that will help us learn and understand something new about different world cultures. Kasuti embroidery is a type of hand embroidery that originates from Karnatak in India. There are many traditional kasuti embroidery patterns and common motifs such as the lotus flower, and many are inspired by temples in the Karnatak region. Older elementary age children are invited to learn how to create this simple lotus flower pattern by The Spruce Crafts via Zoom.
