New or left over supplies from a past project? Supplies for that project you’ll never get to? Here’s your chance to get them into the hands of someone who use them, and maybe pick up something new yourself! Donate your still-usable arts or craft supplies to the Iowa City Public Library Arts & Crafts Supply Swap, Saturday March 4 from 10:30-3pm. in meeting Room A. Donations must be dropped off the afternoon before - Friday, March 3 from 1-6:00pm in Meeting Room A. When you donate you’ll get an Early Bird Ticket that will get you into the Swap 30 minutes early on Saturday March 4 at 10 am. Swap opens to the public at 10:30. Items to donate: fabric, googly eyes, buttons, felt, ribbons, embroidery floss or hoops, needle work kits, spools of thread, kids craft supplies (stickers, pompoms, pipe cleaners, construction paper) scrap book paper or supplies, washi tape, unused craft kits, patterns, clay, tissue paper, rubber stamps, ink pads, stretched canvas, sketch or drawing pads, watercolor paper, colored pencils, markers, pastels, watercolors or acrylic paints, paint brushes, stencils, quilting or sewing supplies, craft patterns or books, beads or jewelry making supplies, findings, wire, cord, perler beads or mats, crafting tools, yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, rulers, scissors, pompon makers, hole punches, hot glue guns, glues, adhesives, glass gems, macramé supplies, para cord. This is a swap for people to find usable supplies. We will not accept unusable, broken, dried out supplies, solvents or other toxic chemicals, gallons of paint, computers, printers, cameras, other av equipment, or sewing machines, lumber or loose boards, or home repair supplies. Prior to the Swap, Library staff will choose some supplies to keep for Summer Reading Program activities. Leftover items will be donated to The Crowded Closet or Goodwill.
