Library EventWorld Club: Mooncake Festival

Join us for the exciting World Club on the third Tuesday of every month! Each month we will explore a unique world culture through fun stories, games, crafts, activities, or even delicious food. All ages and backgrounds welcome!
Today we will kick off our World Club with a pre-celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival - 中秋节, which is also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival. Similar holidays are also celebrated in Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and other countries in East and Southeast Asia. Let’s get together and read a fun bilingual picture book: A Big Moon Cake for Little Star, as well as try out making our own snowy mooncakes. Each family in attendance can make and enjoy one mooncake while supplies last.

今天我们俱乐部的第一次活动将庆祝即将来临的中秋节。中秋节是中国和其它一些东亚及东南亚国家的传统节日。首先我们将用中，英两种语言阅读绘本《小星星和大月饼》，然后一起尝试自己制作冰皮月饼。每个参与的家庭可制作并享用一个月饼。
