Storytime Room
Book to Art Club is the fourth Tuesday of every month for school age children. Each month we will read a picture book and create custom art inspired by the story!
This week is Intellectual Freedom Week, where we celebrate the freedom to read and recognize current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. Tomie DePaola's Strega Nona, an award-winning classic tale is about a magic cooking pot that cooks pasta, has the distinction of being a challenged and banned book. It was banned from a number of children's libraries in the United States for depicting magic, witches, and witchcraft in a positive light. Today we will celebrate our freedom to read by making pasta art and enjoying this class story!
