The Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation (ICPLFF) has teamed up with the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center to introduce a new community program that encourages residents to donate and recycle their unwanted books. This initiative aims to ensure that usable, quality books find new homes, while those beyond repair are recycled, helping to keep them out of the landfill.

Did you know that there is a used book store on the second floor of the Iowa City Public Library? The Book End, one of Iowa City’s best kept secrets, sells gently used fiction, general nonfiction, cookbooks, poetry, history, biographies, young adult and children’s books, as well as puzzles, vinyl records, DVDs and audiobooks on CD. Keep an eye out for book bundles including eight or more copies of the same book for only $5 to $10, perfect for local book clubs looking to stock up.

She fondly remembers her neighbor bringing her to story time with Hazel Westgate and winning a copy of "Millions of Cats" during an ICPL drawing contest when she was a child. Amber has two daughters, a husband, and a very devoted rescue Spring Spaniel named Happy. She enjoys walking to work, cooking and eating delicious food, receiving and sending snail mail, and playing games.
