ICPL patrons cast hundreds of votes to support their favorite books and authors during the first round of our annual Book Brackets Tournament. We are excited to announce the books that advanced to the second round. Don't forget to keep voting; the second round is open from Monday, March 14 to Sunday, March 20 at 8 p.m. You can vote in person at the Book Brackets display located on the first floor or you can cast your vote online.

The Iowa City Public Library invites adults 21 or older to a wine tasting on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. This event is hosted by the Wine & Spirits department of the HyVee Drugstore in Iowa City. Distributors of wine, craft beer, and spirits will offer samples of their products during this casual drop-in event at the HyVee on First and Rochester Avenues in Iowa City.

Library supporters should mark their calendars for Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 and make a plan to shop in person or online at Sidekick Coffee & Books. A generous percentage of sales will be donated to the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation to help grow the Iowa City Public Library. Purchase of books, gifts, toys, coffee, pastries, and ice cream will be included in this fundraiser (gift cards are not included).

Local Libraries LIT (Listen, Initiate, Talk) will host Jennine Capó Crucet, author of the critically acclaimed "Make Your Home Among Strangers,'' which was a New York Times Book Review Editor’s Choice book and the winner of the 2016 International Latino Book Award. The program will begin at 7 p.m. via Zoom, on Wednesday, Jan. 26, and reservations are required at icpl.org/local-libraries-LIT by 5 p.m. on the day of the event.
