03/05/2017 2:00pm 03/05/2017 4:00pm Second Sunday Garden Forum: Iowa City's 'Gather Here' - Growing Parks & Community Juli Seydell Johnson became the Director of Iowa City Parks & Recreation in January 2016. She'll be here to discuss Iowa City’s current park areas and its master plan for parks, natural areas, trails, and trees which provides a new vision to “Gather and Grow” in the city. As Director of Parks & Recreation, Juli is responsible for the city's 46 parks, extensive trail network, 1,600 acres of open space, two recreation centers and the city-owned Oakland Cemetery. An Iowa native, Juli previously served as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Eagan, Minn, and Coralville, Iowa .She is a graduate of Iowa State University and the University of South Dakota. The Second Sunday Garden Forums and cosponsored by Project GREEN and the Iowa City Public Library. All programs are free and open to the public.
