This new program is designed to make chemistry accessible and fun for families through demonstrations and experiments. Hosted by a group of University of Iowa students, their goal is to share the wonders of chemistry with people of all ages.

“We want to give our families a chance to see how amazing and magical chemistry can be,” says Vickie Pasicznyuk, the Library’s children’s services coordinator. “In fact, not all of the UI students leading this program are chemistry majors. They just like chemistry and want to share that with others.”

Chemists in the Library will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on January 25, February 22, March 29, April 26, May 10, and June 28. All Chemists in the Library events will be held in the Children’s Room.
