The Iowa City Public Library recently honored employees who have worked at the Library for five, 10, 15, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years.

Twenty-one employees were recognized during the Library’s Staff InService Day on Dec. 13.

Individuals who celebrated five years of employment at the Library include: Jane Bradbury, Alex Clancy, Steve Dohrer, Becky Gelman, Karen Gordon, Tom Jordan, Anne Mangano, Melissa Osvald, and Victoria Walton.

Sarah Andrews, Mike Brenneman, Judy Sivertsen, and Candice Smith were recognized for 10 years of service, while Heidi Lauritzen, Kara Logsden, and Diana Morris were recognized for 15 years of employment. Two individuals – Debb Green and Charlie Koenigsaecker – celebrated 25 years of service.

Beth Daly was recognized for 30 years of service, while Nancy Holland was honored for 35 years at the Library.

The last honoree of the morning was Valeria Schnor, who celebrated 40 years employment with the Iowa City Public Library although, technically, her service started earlier than that. In 1969, Schnor started working at the Library as part of the Mayor’s Youth Employment program. She became an official staff member in 1970.

“The Library is pleased to honor Valeria for 40 years of service,” Library Director Susan Craig said. “We thank her, and all of our employees recognized today, for their service.”
