Press ReleaseMidWestOne Bank Hosts Book Drive to Benefit ICPL's The Book End

bookend A special community collection for The Book End will begin next week at local MidWestOne bank locations.  The September book drive will benefit The Book End used bookstore inside the Iowa City Public Library. The seventh annual effort starts on September 3 and continues through September 30, 2013.

Each MidWestOne bank location in Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty will have a specialty box ready to accept gently-read fiction and non-fiction books for all ages.  All are invited to join bank customers and staff to bring in book donations during convenient bank hours.

“This book drive is the largest of its kind and brings in such high quality books.  We are excited that MidWestOne Bank is willing to once again partner to help those books find new readers!” said Patty McCarthy, Development Director, Iowa City Public Library.

Proceeds from sales at The Book End directly benefit the Iowa City Public Library Children's Summer Reading Program, Teen Summer Reading Program, and Art-to-Go program, as well as add items to borrow from the library.  Volunteers staff the store on the second floor of the Library as a fundraiser for the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation.
