Getting Started with WordPress | Virtual Class for Adults with Iowa City Public Library

Do you want to start your own website? Or are you taking over a WordPress site from someone else? Learn how to get started building a website on the framework behind more than one third of the internet’s websites.

No coding required. WordPress is suitable for those who have never made a website, using skills such as comfort using a web browser, filling in online forms, and finding files on your computer.

There’s a lot to customize on the admin side of a WordPress website and we’ll walk through the main skills to know like adding pages and blog posts, changing the theme design, and adding functionality with plug-ins.

(Note: WordPress is free to use for building your website, however it costs a variable amount for web hosting to make your website available on the internet.)
