Father's Day at the Library

It's Father's Day and we are celebrating all of our dynamite dads at the library. We've put our favorite books about all kinds of fathers on display in the Children's Room. Come in to the library to check these out and stop in for our Sunday Funday at 2pm to make a Father's Day craft.

Dad and the Dinosaur by Gennifer Choldenko follows a boy who can only be brave like his dad with the help of a toy dinosaur. When he loses his dinosaur, dad knows just what to do.

My Father's Arms are a Boat by Stein Erik Lunde is a gentle story about the many comforts of being held by a father, especially when seeking answers to hard questions.

Home at Last by Vera B. Williams and Chris Raschka asks what it will take for a newly adopted son to feel at home with his two new fathers.

Owl Moon by Jane Yolen follows a father and daughter as they share a special nighttime stroll through the woods to see a Great Horned Owl. A classic that shows the strength of a father-daughter bond.

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney is a book full of the love between a son and father. Little Nutbrown Hare loves his father and tells him so, but Big Nutbrown Hare always has just a little more love to share.
