Make those resolutions stick

Every year at this time, media stories begin to surface about the top New Year's Resolutions based on some survey. But as we all know, making the resolution is easy. Figuring out how to make it sustainable is the tricky part. Maybe ICPL can help.

Bon Appetit Dec 2017
one of many magazine titles available online

Eat and Cook Healthy We have literally hundreds of cookbooks, meal planners and dietary guides to choose from. We've got shelves of cookbooks and guides for just about every possible cooking goal you might have including well known titles by Mark Bitman, Alton Brown and the Smitten Kitchen.  Also our digital magazine newsstand, RB Digital, allows you to browse from popular magazines including Eating Well, Cooks Illustrated, Saveur, and Bon Appetit. All of these are available right from your mobile device.

Knits for Nerds. You know you want to try some of these.

Learn a New Hobby or Skill Try our online learning services, Mango and Transparent Language. Find resources about Woodworking, Painting, knitting, and ceramics.  We have these and many more both online and at the library.

Read More Books Many of us aspire to reading more books in the next year. It can be hard find the energy to read after working all day, cooking dinner and doing the dishes. Many of our patrons tell us that they listen to audiobooks as they commute to and from work, go about yard work or do house chores.  We have a huge collection of eAudioBooks, including the latest titles that can be used on almost any mobile device.

Download local albums for free.

Spend Less/Save More If this is one of your goals for 2018, taking advantage of ICPL's resources is one concrete way to accomplish it. Instead of spending money at Audible and Amazon, take advantage of our free resources at the Library. Cancel your subscriptions to popular magazines and use our digital magazine service. You can download free albums from local artists at our Local Music Project. You can also use Consumer Reports in either print or online as a way to get the most for your money.

As always, if you need help finding resources our librarians will try to find the resources to help you make those resolutions stick.
