During the 18th and 19th century as dancers traveled around Ireland, often performance space was limited. They would dance on tabletops, sometimes even the top of a barrel. Because of this, the dancing styles were very contained, with hands rigid at the sides, and a lack of arm movement. Join a few of the Champagne Irish Dancers in Meeting Room A to learn more about Irish culture, language, music, and dance!
