01/19/2021 6:30pm 01/19/2021 7:30pm Totally Tweens: Owl Pellet Lab Rarely heard, and seldom seen, owls have fascinated humans since ancient Egypt as symbols of magic and darkness. While owls may seem like mysterious creatures, they’re actually quite common, and you might have an owl living as close as your backyard or local park. Join Bur Oak Land Trust’s Education Team as we shed some light on these nocturnal wonders in a fun-filled workshop all about owls! Learn about owls and what makes them such successful predators. Then we will explore the owl’s important role in the food chain with a guided dissection of your very own owl pellet (a mass that owls regurgitate). Please register for this event by clicking the green button above. Your confirmation email will contain the Zoom link to this program. The Zoom information will be sent to you again in a reminder email a few hours before the program starts. Your registration includes an Owl Pellet Lab kit, which you'll need in order to participate in this event. Your kit can be picked up from the library anytime the library is open in the week leading up to the event (January 12-19). This event is for kids in grades 3-6.
